Learning to love red wines: Understanding tannins

Feeling the wine and talking Tannin! ………Most of us know that to appreciate a wine we need to use our senses of sight, smell, and taste, but harder to articulate is the sense of touch or feel.  So, what does it mean when you hear a wine expert speak about mouthfeel?   Chewy, aggressive, round, silky, angular, fine grained, velvety….are some of the words used to describe tannins which provide the main clues to texture of a wine.

Tannin is a very important component of wine and provides structure, taste, and mouthfeel to red wines.  In this interactive workshop we will taste THREE wines with different levels of tannins so that you can develop a better understanding of tannins and how to describe them.  Join Bonne Cuvée as we explore this with three wines with different levels of tannin and try to talk the language of tannin!
